Great Bass Clarinet — Or as we know it the Contra Alto Clarinet an octave below the alto clarinet, in between the bass and contrabass and is pitched in E-Flat. The tone color (sound) is rich and falls between the Bass Clarinet and the Contra Bass Clarinet… it is used is many concet bands as the Contrabass is not common and very expensive for most school and community bands. Both the Contra Alto and Contrabass are used in Clarinet Choirs….
