The clarinet is made up of five connecting parts, the mouthpiece, barrel, upper joint, lower joint, and bell.

Upper & Lower Joints – are the main 2 parts of the clarinet. The upper joint is the first major part of the clarinet’s body and is assembled with the lower joint, the second main component. These joints, when connected, together make up the body of the instrument.  They contain the tone holes, keys and pads that make the clarinet work. These joints are the main body and the parts of the clarinet that are not usually changed. Considered the most important parts of the clarinet….
